Sep 05, 2016 My doc has prescribed a cream--it doesn't work. I have tried all the stuff you can buy over the counter and found that Scalpicin works as well or better than most. It is made for itchy scalp, so you can find it in the hair care section near the dandruff treatments. It is a hydrocortisone 1% liquid in an alcohol base. PLEASE HELP! I have been on Plaquenil well the generic form-- hydroxychloroquine since October, and for the past about 2 weeks, I have been SEVERELY skin turns red, and it feels like something is biting me. It's bad around my ankles and the tops of my feet, my arms, and I get red blotches and spots on my chest. Jun 14, 2010 So far I haven't noticed any increased swelling or deformity of joints. I felt a little "weird" and had some increased itching at first but that went away. My psoriasis is primarily on the face and scalp and it has increased slightly, although it always gets worse in the winter. Had an eye exam last week and there has been no impact on my eyes.

Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine.

Fluoroquinolone Antibiotics Cipro, Levaquin, Avelox. I did do some research to decide if I should take plaquenil or not and found it to be in a group of antimalaria drugs and considered separate from the flouroquinolones. But, I'm going to double check now. I just checked on the web again and plaquenil is a chloroquine, not a quinolone. Rarely it can cause damage to vision by destroying the retina.
